So, here’s the thing — I didn’t set out to lose 40 pounds. In fact, if you had told me a couple of months ago that I’d drop that much weight without hitting the gym or eating kale, I would’ve laughed. But then, life threw a curveball in the form of a promotion.

You see, I’ve always had an active job, racking up a solid 15,000 steps a day. That’s right — who needs the gym when you can just walk all day at work, right? But after my promotion, my step count skyrocketed to 20,000 steps. You’d think that would make me feel like a fitness god, but there’s a catch — I’m so busy, I literally have no time to eat.

Yeah, you read that right. I went from a healthy-ish “two-to-three-meals-a-day” kind of routine to one meal a day. Suddenly, the most consistent relationship in my life was with my chicken and rice (which, let’s be honest, doesn’t get nearly enough airtime because I’m too busy to sit down for lunch).

The Accidental Weight Loss Plan

I’ll be real with you — this isn’t a diet I’d recommend, but hey, it’s working! Over the past two months, I’ve lost 40 pounds and shed 5 inches around my waist. My work schedule is so hectic that by the time I finish my day (usually inhaling Chex Mix or beef jerky in the car), I’ve pretty much burned through everything I ate.

Now, weekends are a little more normal. I actually eat three meals on my days off. I don’t touch my beloved pop intake — still drinking the same amount of soda, and let’s be clear, not the diet stuff. And coffee? Oh, we’re still best friends. Coffee in the morning, coffee on weekends, skinny syrup (hey, zero sugar), but I’m definitely not skimping on the creamer.

Muscle Fatigue & Confusion

I’ll admit, it’s not all smooth sailing. I feel a lot better, but the muscle fatigue from work hits hard. I guess walking 20,000 steps while managing the chaos can take its toll.

So, is this a normal weight-loss method? I have no clue. But if you’re curious to see if working yourself to the bone and surviving on one meal a day works for you, give it a try — and don’t forget to tell me how it goes. Maybe we’ll start the next big fitness trend: “The Accidental Promotion Diet” — results not guaranteed!
